Twenty two -party alliance concludes no alternatives of consensus
Kathmandu, Oct 31: The
22-party-alliance led by the UCPN (Maoist) has concluded that a new
constitution drafting process could not go ahead beyond the consensus process.
The meeting of the alliance held at
the UCPN (Maoist) parliamentary party office at Singhdurbar today, concluded
that continuous meeting held among three major parties did not bear fruit but
it concluded that there was no alternative to consensus.
Co-chair of the Sadbhawana Party
Laxman Lal Karna said that the ruling parties were not serious about
constitution drafting process as they were making efforts only being limited in
arithmetic calculations.
On the occasion UCPN (Maoist) chair
Pushpa Kamal Dahal informed that the progress and activities achieved so far
through the three party meetings.
The meeting decided to request the
Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (CPDCC) either to
table the report on the disputed issues or seeking any alternatives before
tabling it to the constituent assembly.
The meeting urged the ruling parties to search
any alternatives on the disputed issues as the parties only had presented their
stances instead forging common understanding on the issues.
The CPDCC committee has been
assigned to reach in a conclusion on the disputed issues by tomorrow. RSS
