Prez, PM wish for statute, prosperity
KATHMANDU, OCT 23 -
The heads of the state and the government have wished for a new constitution and national prosperity on the occasion of Tihar.
Extending his Deepawali greetings to all the citizens home and abroad, President Ram Baran Yadav
expressed his hope on Thursday that the country gets the much-awaited
constitution on time. He wished for perpetuation of Nepal’s sovereignty
and national unity. President Yadav called on all to cooperate for the
realisation of this goal.
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala wished for good health, peace and
happiness of all the Nepalis. “Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural
and multi-lingual nation. These indigenous cultural practices are our
identity,” the PM said in a statement.
"Tihar strengthens unity among us," he said. "Once we have a democratic constitution, we will tread on the path of prosperity."
